Playing Bar (Barre) Chords on the Guitar (Minor)

Changing a 5th string root major bar chord to a minor one is simply a matter of modifying
the chord shape. The new shape is the same as the open Amaj chord shape. As with the sixth
string root bar chords, this flats the third degree of the chord by moving it one fret
toward the headstock. As you should know, flatting the third degree of any chord (or scale)
results in making it minor.

The root notes on the fifth string are the same as we used for major chords so, again,
there's very little to memorize. As with major chords, the shape is the same as the open
A minor. All open chords can be moved into bar chord positions but most commonly E and A are
used. Just be sure note to confuse them.
