Home - blues4kids.com

In the previous lesson, we learned how to play Fmaj as a 6th string root bar chord. In fact, all major chords can be played using this shape by simply sliding it into other positions. Which position is determined by your first finger. Your first finger should be positoned on the fret of the root note of the chord.

As you can see, learning all 12 major chords is just a matter of learning the notes on the 6th string.

One of the great advantages to playing bar chords is the ease in which it makes playing other chord types. The positions you used to play the major chords are also used to play minor and dominant chords. They are simply adjusted slightly.
