I played this in my my local music store and ... wow, is all i can say, i direcly compared it to the mesa boogie dual rectifier and noticed how the tone was slighltly better and the mesa was twice as much, needless to say i went home with the xxx. I also tried each amp with many different guitars so that i was making shure that it was the amp note the guitars making that great tone

I have played the XXX in my local guitar store (www.wrays.com) and it was pretty nice, but i liked the clean sound better than the distortion, the tone isnt as good as i thought it would be... it nice, but i would highly getting a noise reduction after volume 4... if your looking for heavy lows and punk rockish sound... the 5150 II is the way to go trust me...

I haven't bought this amp yet, but I will when I get the extra cash!! I been comparing this XXX to many different amps (mesa, marshall, vox, soldan, fender, randall...) for the last month at my local guitar shop and this amp it holds it own weight in TONE!!! for half the price of those other high end amps. The 1x12 and 2x12 combo also produces enough low end to compare side by side to some 4x12 cabs...all enough to make me want this amp!! The clean is "clean" with great headroom, the crunch has awsome tone and you can diain everything from AC/DC to SRV to GodSmack, and the ultra channel is just that... "ULTRA"!! If your into heavy, this channel does it. It also has a switch for speaker response, "Loose, Mid and Tight". This switch "does" change the way the amp sounds which adds to the flexability of playing anything or coping other amp sounds. I play everything from light blues to rock to heavy metal and this amp does it all with awsome tone and flexability. For the quality built, cost and of course the TONE!! this amp is it all.

The Triple is a very hip amp. I played everything from Matchless to Fender and the XXX sounds better and costs a lot less. It's a total pro amp!
